01Damon G. Lamb, PhD
InventorDamon G. Lamb, PhD, is an assistant professor in the University of Florida Department of Psychiatry. His research has examined altered relationships between cognitive and emotional brain networks associated with emotional dysregulation in PTSD and mild traumatic brain injury.
His work also explores how vagus nerve stimulation affects neural circuits involved in memory and cognition, as well as the potential use of transcutaneous VNS for mild cognitive impairment.
Dr. Lamb is a member of the Society for Neuroscience, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Organization for Computational Neurosciences, IEEE and the American Physical Society.
He earned bachelor’s degrees in computer engineering and mathematics from the University of Maryland, a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Chicago and a PhD in neuroscience from Emory University. Dr. Lamb is a co-inventor on Evren’s licensed closed-loop tVNS patent.
02Eric Porges, PhD
InventorEric Porges, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Center for Cognitive Aging and Memory within the University of Florida Department of Clinical and Health Psychology.
His expertise includes external stimulation of the autonomic nervous system and the design and implementation of tVNS studies addressing anxiety and sleep-related symptoms of PTSD. He is a member of the Society for Neuroscience and the Research Society on Alcoholism.
Dr. Porges earned a BA in cognitive science from Hampshire College and a PhD in integrative neuroscience from the University of Chicago. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in aging cognitive neuroscience at the University of Florida and is a co-inventor on Evren’s licensed closed-loop tVNS patent.
03John Williamson, PhD
InventorJohn Williamson, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and assistant professor in the University of Florida Department of Psychiatry. He serves as principal investigator on PTSD studies conducted with Dr. Damon Lamb and Dr. Eric Porges as co-investigators.
His research interests include the effectiveness of tVNS in reducing PTSD symptoms, improving sleep quality among veterans and treating mild cognitive impairment.
Dr. Williamson earned a BA in psychology from Florida State University and an MS and PhD in clinical psychology from Virginia Tech. He completed a clinical psychology internship in the University of Chicago Department of Psychiatry and a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the University of Illinois Chicago.
