Rick Giancola brings more than 35 years of life-sciences experience to Evren, with a record of building businesses, guiding strategic growth and advancing neuromodulation technologies designed to improve patients’ lives.

As owner and managing director of Otomed Consulting, he has advised established companies, emerging ventures and investment firms on business development and operating strategy for neuromodulation systems, hearing implants, tinnitus treatments and other neurological technologies.

At Cochlear Americas, his team built the company’s Latin American business and delivered approximately 30% annual revenue growth. He later led Neuromonics and Sophono as CEO and served as executive vice president for the Americas and EMEA at Nurotron Biotechnology, where his commercial, clinical, research, regulatory and training initiatives helped produce fivefold sales growth across Latin America and EMEA.

Giancola earned an MBA from Syracuse University and a BA from Hobart College. He also contributes to professional and community boards and enjoys cycling, skiing, golf and lacrosse.

Weaver Gaines has more than four decades of entrepreneurial, management and legal experience, including over 25 years founding, financing and managing early-stage life-science companies.

He co-founded and served as CEO of OBMedical, which developed an electronic maternal-fetal monitor, secured FDA clearance and was acquired by Philips Healthcare in 2018. From 2008 through 2017, he chaired Nanotherapeutics, now Ology Bioservices.

Gaines also founded Ixion Biotechnology, a Florida clinical-stage company developing stem-cell and probiotic approaches for metabolic disorders. Ixion’s probiotic technology was acquired by QMed AB in 2007.

He holds a BA from Dartmouth College and a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law. Gaines served as a U.S. Army infantry officer in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970 and completed his service with the rank of Captain.

Neil Euliano has spent more than 20 years leading multidisciplinary teams that develop medical devices and clinical technology. He was the chief designer and team manager for Philips Healthcare’s FDA-cleared VentAssist intelligent decision-support software for ventilated patients.

He holds more than 40 U.S. patents, with additional applications pending, and has managed research and development grants for nearly two decades, including more than $12 million in industry- and government-funded programs.

Euliano co-founded two medical-technology companies that progressed through FDA clearance, commercial sales and acquisition. He served as chairman and CTO of OBMedical during its acquisition by Philips and has contributed to the successful FDA clearance of more than six medical devices.

He is a senior science advisor to etectRX, a senior advisor to Philips Healthcare and a courtesy assistant professor in the University of Florida Department of Anesthesiology. He earned a PhD in signal processing and electrical engineering, an MSEE and a BSE in computer science from the University of Florida.

Kimberly Ramsey is a serial entrepreneur with 30 years of progressively responsible corporate-finance and operations experience. Across her career, she has helped raise more than $100 million, including through several successful public offerings.

As founder and president of Bio/Med CXO, Ramsey provides executive consulting to medical-device startups. She previously co-founded and served as CFO of OBMedical, helping advance its wireless maternal-fetal monitor, raise more than $10 million in private equity and complete the company’s acquisition by Philips Healthcare.

Her earlier work supported mergers and initial public offerings across biotechnology, medical devices and high technology. Ramsey earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Florida’s Fisher School of Accounting.

John Abernethy, MD, serves as Chief Medical Officer at Serodopa Therapeutics and as a medical director with Meridian Behavioral Healthcare. His responsibilities span opioid-treatment programs, detoxification and long-term residential care, with an emphasis on addiction medicine and opioid-use disorders.

Through this work, Dr. Abernethy cares for many patients who are also seeking relief from PTSD. He previously served as medical director at Ology Bioservices, formerly Nanotherapeutics, and held a faculty appointment at the University of Florida College of Medicine.

Dr. Abernethy is a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps and a graduate of the University of Florida College of Medicine.

Joshua Kelly first worked with Evren through a University of Florida capstone course, where his peers selected him to lead the company’s long-term strategy team. After graduating, he joined Evren as an associate product manager in 2021 and was appointed Corporate Secretary later that year.

His responsibilities expanded across digital marketing, corporate communications, research and development and earpiece manufacturing. He became Head of Marketing in 2022 and Director of Operations in 2023.

Kelly previously consulted with Asymetric Solutions and served as Wisconsin deputy state director for In Field Strategies. He earned a degree in public relations from the University of Florida in 2019.

Sahil Raje joined Evren Technologies as a business analyst in 2023 and now supports the company’s finance function. As a graduate equity analyst for Indiana University’s Reese Fund, he analyzed financial-sector securities, company performance and growth factors to evaluate business plans and investment viability.

During an earlier internship, Raje performed budgeting and financial-planning analysis and supported leadership with standard-cost models. At Florida State University, he collaborated with a student equity-research team trading securities in a $4.35 million actively managed fund.

Raje earned bachelor’s degrees in finance and management information systems from Florida State University and a master’s degree in finance from Indiana University.
